Young Adventurers

Young Adventurers is an Early Childhood company based in Swan Hill. We employ 20 educators with various qualifications and provide childcare & kinder programs for children.

What do Young Adventurers do?

Young Adventurers provides an opportunity for up to 90 families a week to participate in a fun and educational setting. Activities both indoors and outdoors include art & craft, reading/books/literacy, maths, science, pre-writing skills, sport, music/dance, climbing, balancing, small and large group games and experiences. Qualified educators support children to learn new skills and conquer new challenges. The play spaces are carefully designed to provide a homely feel with large open spaces for running and plenty of undercover shaded areas for relaxing throughout the day. The centre philosophy focuses on using natural and recycled materials in play, growing fruits & vegetables both as a learning experience and to use during the day when in season.

The established gardens and bird and chicken aviary provide ample opportunities for children to investigate, explore and learn about their surroundings. The many parrots and other birds, ducks & lizards that pass through our playgrounds add to the peaceful feel. Children and families are encouraged to be more sustainable reusing items for other purposes, reducing waste and making better choices about the things we buy and use everyday. Educators have various skills, experience and qualifications throughout the centre with University Trained Degree Qualified Teachers managing the Kindergarten program.

Owners Marg & Scott Hartshorn look forward to welcoming families and educators to the setting each day and take time to ensure everyone’s experience is positive and valuable. Educators are provided with opportunities to increase their skills through regular training opportunities and support from the centre’s Educational Leader to ensure that programs meet the needs of individual children within the group. Marg Hartshorn has over 25 years experience working and managing early childhood services and provides opportunities throughout the year for students both from Universities and local training organisations to undertake their practical training at the centre. Students may one day be future employees and being supported throughout their studies will help ensure they are successful.
